A week ago Saturday (January 21st) I was at George’s in San Rafael with Tony Saunders and the Romancing The Bass Band . The show started with the Ray Obiedo Latin Jazz Band featuring some amazing players, extremely cool vibe from the audience. I saw some old friends I have not seen in years. I was asked by Ray and David K Mathews (from the Carlos Santana band) to sing “At Last” by Etta James do to her recent passing. Dave played with her for a number of years and I was more than happy to sing the song with him, and for Etta. What a talent and what a song . May she rest in peace. Tony Saunders and the band kick into gear and the crowd responded Rich Aguon on drums and vocals was amazing Nikita and Misa sang … Allen Leong and Bill Hampton did what they always do no matter whom they are performing with.. Tony of course slapping and making the crowd feel welcome. All in all a fun show. Be Blessed FRED Ross
This past Weekend at the Starlight Room was great. Friday Ron Smith was on drums and vocals, what an amazing talent this young man is.
Saturday my boi Deszon was back in the chair tearing it up . I feel so blessed to be around so many amazing musicians.
Preparing for the show with Tony Saunders this weekend Saturday the 21st at George’s, also on the bill is Ray Obiedo and his band. This should be big fun I’m already fired up. Holla back soon peace Fred Ross.
The New Year has started off with a bang. I had a rare Friday night off, so I decided to go to Yoshi’s in Oakland to see Tower Of Power with my partner in crime Tony Lindsay (lead singer for Carlos Santana). Emilio Castillo and Larry Braggs invited Tony and I to sing What Is Hip? with the band. What fun we had when Tony, Larry, and I on stage at the same time, singing, dancing, and laughing…way cool, great way to spend the night off. After 44 years Tower Of Power is still smoking. Saturday night at the Starlight Room was off the chain, very enthusiastic crowd, and the band was slammin. Sunday, my wonderful wife Rebecca who love’s to cook, so we entertained dear friends from Las Vegas..yet another great time hanging with them in our home. So I’m already having a great week…please do the same. Blessings–Fred Ross.
It has been awhile since I have blogged, just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. A bit about this past week, New
Year’s eve “The Fred Ross Project” performed at The Starlight Room to a sold out crowd. The band was slamming and the audience responded by partying there #**’es off. It was a great way to end 2011 and start 2012 for myself and the band. Really looking forward to 2012. Happy New Year to you all. <Fred Ross>

A heads up for last weekend December 9th & 10th. A double header Darryl Anders and Agapa Soul Christmas party for Dunlop was a hit. D.C. Anders was funking the bass up as usual and Arron Green ...stupid Drummer. Loved singing with Indra Jones, and my boi Vince Lars was amazing, basically everyone in this band is very talented and a pleasure work with. After which I ran home rested and was off to my gig at Starlight Room I can't say enough about my band Allen, Deszon, Joe, Eric, tore it up Friday night. And the Starlight Room audience responded by partying hard to the fun we were having. Truly made me happy to be home. Saturday night ...Tasche, Nate Pitts Jr., Deszon, and Bill Hamptated were at the performance and energy from friday night carried over.... How blessed am I to perform with all these wonderful people. Peace, Love and Merry Christmas! ˜Fred Ross & The Fred Ross Project˜
