Blog Update From Last Weekend

A heads up for last weekend December 9th & 10th. A double header Darryl Anders and Agapa Soul Christmas party for Dunlop was a hit. D.C. Anders was funking the bass up as usual and Arron Green ...stupid Drummer. Loved singing with Indra Jones, and my boi Vince Lars was amazing, basically everyone in this band is very talented and a pleasure work with. After which I ran home rested and  was off to my gig at Starlight Room I can't say enough about my band Allen, Deszon, Joe, Eric, tore it up Friday night. And the Starlight Room audience responded by partying hard to the fun we were having. Truly made me happy to be home. Saturday night ...Tasche, Nate Pitts Jr., Deszon, and Bill Hamptated were at the performance and energy from friday night carried over.... How blessed am I to perform with all these wonderful people.  Peace, Love and Merry Christmas! ˜Fred Ross & The Fred Ross Project˜

Still Black Still Proud Tour Wrap Up

Pee Wee And Maceo

Pee Wee And Maceo

Just returned a few days ago from the Still Black Still Proud tour.  Pee Wee Ellis put together musicians from the West Coast, East Coast and Africa for this tour.  For this tour, Pee Wee also added his old friend from the James Brown Band, Maceo Parker.  What a musical journey, our last three stops Philadlephia, Minneapolis and Toronto were all fun, great crowds who were all into the music, we could feel the audiances reactions as they sent back a great message to us by their excitement.  My personal favorites were Philly, where the fans were having way more fun then we were and Toronto where I sang “Try Me” for the first time, and at the end of the show we received a very long Standing Ovation.  I’m looking forward to the next tour.  Peace and Love to all….Fred Ross

A note from Sunday’s show

Sunday night at the Annenberg Center for the arts in Philadelphia Pee Wee Ellis and Maceo Parker, along with this amazing band were on fire.  Beautiful African rhythms and vocals makes this a show that needs to be seen by everyone.  The Philly crowd was Receptive to the sounds, chanting and partying the whole evening.  Stupid fun.  I’m having a blast playing with these musical legends.  How lucky am I.  More to come…peace Fred.
